Verify Mac Mail 3.x Settings
This section provides easy, step-by-step instructions to verify your Macintosh Mail e-mail settings.
What you need before you start
Incoming mail server
pop.bellaliant.net
imap.bellaliant.net
Outgoing mail server
smtp.bellaliant.net
imap.bellaliant.net
Your Bell Aliant e-mail address and password. If you do not know your Bell Aliant e-mail address or password, contact us at 1-866-425-4268.
Follow these easy steps
Launch Macintosh Mail
Click
Mail - Preferences
In the Accounts tab, select the Mail profile you wish to verify (if more than one).
In Account Information, verify the following settings:
Account Type: Should be POP or IMAP
Description: Your email address
E-mail address: Your Bell Aliant e-mail address
Full Name: Your name
Incoming Mail Server: pop.bellaliant.net or imap.bellaliant.net depending on the initial setup of the account.
User Name: Enter in complete e-mail address
Password: Enter in your password
Click drop down arrows for the
Outgoing Mail Servers (SMTP)
and choose
Edit SMTP Server List
.
On the Servers tab, verify the following settings
Description: Anything can be used here to identify the account
Server Name: smtp.bellaliant.net or imap.bellaliant.net depending on the initial setup of the account.
Click
OK
Close the window with the red X.
When prompted, click
Save
to apply any changes.
