How do I move from Online Billing for Business to Online Bill Manager with auto pay (pre-authorized payments)?
When switching from Online Billing for Business (OBB) to Online Bill Manager (OBM), you also need to switch your pre-authorized payments manually. This involves removing pre-authorization in OBB, as well as adding pre-authorization in OBM.
Note: the timing for pre-authorized payments is different in OBB and OBM.
- In Online Billing for Business, payment is taken 21 days after the bill date.
- In Online Bill Manager, payment is taken 18 days after the bill date for pre-authorized debit, and seven days after the bill date for pre-authorized credit card.
Please refer to the following steps for making the switch.
- Register for Online Bill Manager.
- It will take 24–48 hours for an invoice to appear in Online Bill Manager; this needs to be loaded before you can add pre-authorized payments.
- You will need to add pre-authorized payments in Online Bill Manager (OBM) and remove pre-authorized payments in Online Billing for Business (OBB).
To ensure you don’t miss a payment:
-
Removal of pre-authorized payments in OBB should only be done after your last invoice has already been paid and seven days before you next bill date. Pre-authorized payments should be added to OBM during this same seven-day window.
The following charts, broken down by the month of when you are making the change, provide a guide for this timing. Look for your bill date in order to determine when to make the pre-authorized payment changes.July 2023 pre-authorization enablement
