Call Forwarding

Call Forwarding redirects your incoming calls to another phone number of your choosing. It can be a local or long distance number. If you redirect to a long distance number, charges will apply. Note: Call Forwarding may not work on Ident-A-Call numbers - only with your main phone number.

For quick reference, use the following checklist to set up Call Forwarding. For more guidance, follow the detailed step-by-step instructions. 

Follow these easy steps

Activating Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver:
    a) Press *72 if you have a residential or single line business.
    b) Press *78 if you have multi-line (you need to dial 9 to get an outside line).
  2. Listen for three beeps in rapid succession followed by the dial tone.
  3. Dial the telephone number you wish to have calls forwarded to.
    Note: For multi-line customers, you must dial 9 and then the number you want to forward calls to.
  4. Listen for two beeps and hang up the phone.
  5. Your calls have now been forwarded to the number you specified.

Deactivating Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver:
    a) Press *73 if you have a residential or single line business.
    b) Press *79 if you have multi-line (you need to dial 9 to get an outside line).
  2. Listen for two beeps and hang up the phone.

When Call Forwarding is not working

  1. Hearing a busy signal when dialing *72 or *78 is an indication that the feature is not available for use on your line.
    Note: If you have recently subscribed to this calling feature there is normally a 24 hour time period before the feature is active on your phone line.
  2. Your phone must be set to touch tone for Call Forwarding to work. Not hearing any beeps when dialing out is a sign that it might be set to pulse. Switching between touch tone and pulse depends on the model of your phone. Check your User Manual to be sure.
  3. If you have subscribed, and Call Forwarding is active on your line, follow the above Deactivating Call Forwarding steps, then follow the Activating Call Forwarding steps to reactivate again. The process of deactivating and reactivating may solve you issue.
  4. Slowly enter the number to which you want calls forwarded to ensure the correct number is entered.
  5. Call Forwarding may not work on Ident-A-Call numbers - only with your main phone number.
