SpeedStream 6520: Find your network name (SSID) and password (WEP, WPA)

You can find your network name (also known as SSID) and network password (also known as WEP/WPA Encryption key) by logging in to your modem's admin utility.

Find your network name and password in the modem's admin utility

  1. From a computer already connected to your network, open up your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
  2. Type 192.168.2.1 and hit Enter.
  3. If prompted, enter your modem's admin utlity username and password. If you do not know your username and password, you can contact us for this information.
  4. Click the Advanced icon.
  5. Click the Home Network icon.
  6. Click Advanced settings.
  7. Click Configure the Local Home Networking modem wireless network.
  8. Click Yes – Enable wireless now and then click Next.
  9. Your Network name will be displayed beside the SSID field.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Your network password can be found in the field labeled 128 Bit key.
