Turn on/off On-access scanning (real-time protection)

On-access scanning is turned on by default.

To turn off On-access scanning (real-time protection):

  1. Open the Internet Security Services window.
  2. Click on the Protection icon. The Protection screen appears.
  3. Click Open in the Antivirus panel. The Anti-virus screen appears.
  4. Click Advanced to access the scanning features.
  5. Click the switch for Internet Security Services Shield to turn off feature.
  6. Select the length of time to disable On-access scanning.
  7. Click OK. Protection is now disabled.

To turn on On-access scanning (real-time protection):

  1. Open the Internet Security Services window.
  2. Click on the Protection icon. The Protection screen appears.
  3. Click Open in the Antivirus panel. The Anti-virus screen appears.
  4. Click Advanced to access the scanning features.
  5. Click the switch for Internet Security Services Shield to turn on feature.
