Set up my business email on an Android

We know you need to get up and running with your wireless device. This is normally supported through your cellular provider (example Bell Mobility) but if you’d like to use your Bell Aliant email on your Android, we can help you set it up. You simply need to add our settings into the email application.

Follow these easy steps

Tap Settings and choose Add Account under Accounts & Sync

  1. From the Android Home screen tap Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts & sync.
  3. Tap ADD ACCOUNT.

  4. Tap Email.

     Add an email account

Enter your email address and password

  1. Enter your email address and password.
  2. Tap Manual setup.

Enter your incoming mail server information

  1. Under What type of account is this? Tap POP3.

    Select POP3

  2. Under the Incoming server settings heading, confirm your username and password.
  3. Enter the Pop3 server name. When using your Bell Aliant connection the incoming mail server name is pop.bellaliant.com.
  4. Do not change the default settings for Security Type and Port.
  5. Choose your preference to delete mail from server.
  6. Tap Next.

Enter your outgoing mail server information

  1. Under the Outgoing server settings heading, enter the STMP server. When using your Bell Aliant connection the SMPT server is smtpa.bellaliant.net.
  2. Enter 2225 in the Port field.
  3. Check the Require sign-in button (it is checked by default).
  4. Enter your Username (your email address) and password.
  5. Tap Next.

Choose your Account Options

Under Account Options set your personal preferences:

  1. Choose the frequency to automatically check your email.
  2. Choose to send email from this account by default.
  3. Choose to be notified when email arrives.
  4. Chose to sync email from this account.
  5. Tap Next.

Name your new email account

  1. You are notified that the email account is set up. Enter a name for the new email account.
  2. Enter your name as you wish it to appear on outgoing email messages.
  3. Tap Next.

You have successfully set-up email on your Android mobile devices!
