You can find your network name (also known as an SSID) and  password (also known as WEP/WPA encryption keys) printed on the sticker attached to your modem or by logging into the modem's admin utility.

To find your network name and password on your sticker

1. Find the sticker attached to the side of your FibreOP modem.
2. Your network name is printed beside Network Name (2.4 GHz and 5GHz).
3. Your password is printed beside Password.

   

Note: The FibreOP modem is dual band, which means you can choose from 1 of 2 wireless networks - 2.4 or 5 GHz - when connecting Wi-Fi-capable devices like laptops, tablets and smartphones.

• The 2.4 GHz network provides further distance but has an increased chance of interference than the 5 GHz network due to the fact more consumer products operate on 2.4 GHz (e.g. baby monitors, cordless phones, microwaves, etc.). It’s great for roaming through the house and to meet the demands of everyday Internet activities.
• The 5 GHz network provides higher speeds at a closer range and is less likely to be subject to interference. It’s great for video and audio streaming, as well as gaming.

To find your network name and password via your modem's admin utility:

1. From a computer already connected to your network, open up your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
2. Type: 192.168.2.1 and then hit Enter.
3. Enter the admin utility's username and password and click Login.

   Note: If you do not remember your username password, it is printed on the Default Login credentials sticker your modem.

4. Click Wireless Setup.

6. In the Frequency section, select the network you would like to connect to:
   • 2.4 G: This network provides better Wi-Fi coverage across distance but is more susceptible to interference than the 5 GHz network. This is because more electronic consumer products — like baby monitors, cordless phones, microwaves — operate on 2.4 GHz). The 2.4 GHz network is great for roaming through the house and meeting the demands of everyday Internet activities.
   • 5 G: This network provides higher speeds at closer range and is less susceptible to interference. It’s great for gaming, video and audio streaming.

   

7. In the SSID Name field, your network name is displayed.  

    

   

    

8. To use the default password, select Use Default Key/Passphrase. Your password displays in green.  You can use this password to connect to your Wi-Fi.

    

   

    

To change your password:

1. Select Use Custom Key/Passphrase.
2. Enter the password you would like to use.

    

   

    

3. Click Apply to save your new password.
