My smoke detector is making a chirping sound

Your smoke detector probably has a low battery

  • The smoke detector is designed to provide 14 days of operation once the low battery signal has been triggered. If the batteries are not replaced within this warning period, the chirp may become more frequent and last longer

Before you change a battery

  • Call the Central Monitoring Station (1-855-444-4562)
  • Tell them that you plan to change the batteries so they can temporarily disconnect the device from your system
