Downloading McAfee Security from Bell

To activate McAfee® Security from Bell, you must download and install it on your home computer.

Download McAfee

1. On your PC or Mac computer, click the button above to log in to MyBell.
2. A new window will open with the McAfee Security My Account dashboard. If the page does not open check your Internet browser pop-up settings.
3. Select the ‘+’ sign near the top of the page to install the software on a new device.
4. Select whether you want to install the software on a PC or Mac and then click Download.
   
   
5. Select the product you'd like to install and click Download.

   McAfee Security from Bell Good comes with your Internet service. If you've subscribed to additional options, these will also be listed.

6. Read and accept the License Agreement and copy your serial number.

   Important: you'll need your serial number to install the software.

7. Click Download and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you subscribe to McAfee Security from Bell Better or Best editions, you can also install it on your Android and Blackberry devices.

Installing on a PC

1. The installer will launch a pre-install scan to check your computer for existing anti-virus software or threats.
2. Enter the serial number that was provided when you downloaded the software and click Next.
3. On the Install Now page, select Complete and click Next.
4. When the installation is complete, click Done.

Installing on a Mac

1. Launch the DMG file and select the McAfee® Installer.
2. Accept the software license agreement and click Continue.
3. Enter your computer password to allow the new software to be installed.
4. Enter the serial number that was provided when you downloaded the software and click Next.
5. When the installation is complete, click Finish.

Uninstalling

Windows 8 and 10

1. Close all McAfee® program windows.
2. Search for the “Apps & features” functionality (or click Start > Settings > Apps).
3. Click Apps & features in the list on the left.
4. Select McAfee Internet Security or McAfee Total Protection.
5. Click Uninstall and follow any on-screen prompts.

Windows 7 and Vista

1. Close all McAfee® program windows.
2. Click Start, Search, type Programs and Features, and click Go.
3. Double-click Programs and Features.
4. Select McAfee Internet Security or McAfee Total Protection.
5. Click Uninstall and follow the on-screen prompts.

Windows XP

1. Close all McAfee program windows.
2. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
4. Select McAfee Internet Security or McAfee Total Protection.
5. Click Remove and follow the on-screen prompts.

Mac OS

1. Open Finder.
2. In the Go menu, select Applications.
3. Double-click the McAfee Internet Security uninstaller.
4. Check the box beside Uninstall SiteAdvisor, if required.
5. Click Continue.
6. Enter your computer’s admin password and click OK.
7. Click Finish.

McAfee uninstall tool

You can also uninstall all McAfee software using the McAfee Consumer Product Removal (MCPR) tool (Windows only) To do so:

1. Download the MCPR tool and save it to a folder on your computer.
2. Navigate to the folder where you saved the file, and double-click MCPR.exe.
3. When you see the User Account Control dialog box, click Yes.
4. At the McAfee Software Removal screen, click Next. 
5. Click Next to accept the license agreement.
6. When prompted, type the CAPTCHA information, which is case sensitive, and then click Next.
7. When you see the message CleanUp Successful, restart your computer. Your McAfee product will not be fully removed until you have restarted.
