Get over four hours of Internet and home phone usage during power outages. The amount of time you can actively use your phone and Internet services during a power outage will vary based on individual usage.

Important information for customers with Home phone service over fibre to the home

Home phone service delivered using this technology connects to the household power. As a result, without a battery back-up, you will not have access to your home phone service, including 9-1-1 emergency services, during a power outage. A working battery provides limited standby time.

Batteries purchased after July 16, 2017 come with a one-year limited warranty.


Battery disposal 

If you purchased your battery after July 16, 2017, please visit the Call2recycle website to find a drop-off location that will accept your battery. 

If your battery was provided by Bell Aliant on or before July 16, 2017, please call 1 888 214-7896 to request a recovery kit.
